We’re excited to announce availability of the new Button data type in Spreadshee​​t​​​​.​com, allowing you to trigger automation actions on a row or open a URL from a button click.

Button data type

The Button data type allows you to define one or more automation actions that get invoked when users click a button.

For example, here we’ve defined an automation to send a reminder notification to users assigned to a row when a Send Reminder button is clicked.

Buttons can also be configured to open custom URLs when clicked. For example, here we’ve defined a button to do a LinkedIn search using data from multiple columns in the worksheet.

What's next?

A few features we're busy working on now:

• Row Movement
  Ability to drag and drop rows to reposition them in Sheet and Gantt views. This includes the ability to move parent rows in a hierarchy and have all child rows move with them.
  ‍
• ‍Drag & Drop Cell and Range Movement
  Similar to traditional spreadsheets, we’re adding the ability to drag and drop individual cells and ranges to move them in the grid.
  ‍
• ‍Notifications
  An in-app notifications list updated in real time showing each user all of the row assignments, @mentions, alerts, and reminders meant for them.
  ‍
• Enhanced Comments with Resolutions
  We're working on upgrading the cell and row commenting experience and adding the ability to resolve comments.
